Moore Blatch raise funds for Smile4Wessex

Kathryn Grimes, Community Fundraising Officer, for Smile4Wessex, receives a cheque in the sum of £2,389.40 from Matthew Claxson, Partner, at local law firm, Moore Blatch LLP.

Matthew, along with a team from Moore Blatch LLP, recently walked 26 miles in one day from their Chandler’s Ford offices to their Lymington office in aid of Smile4Wessex.

Smile4Wessex provides charitable support for the Wessex Neurological Centre of Southampton General Hospital. The Wessex Neurological Centre is one of the largest and most highly respected neurological centres in the UK. Smile4Wessex raises funds for cutting-edge equipment and facilities that enhance the range and quality of treatment available, and by sponsoring pioneering research into new treatments for a variety of neurological conditions.

Kathryn Grimes said “This is a fantastic achievement to walk 26 miles in one day and amazing fundraising for Smile4Wessex. The funds will be used to further our aims in support of neurological services at the Wessex Neurological Centre helping those in our region. Well done to all involved at Moore Blatch”.

Matthew Claxson said: “Having access to the right neurological treatment and rehabilitation from the outset is key to maximising your outcome after a brain injury. As a solicitor who works on behalf of those who have suffered a brain injury through no fault of their own, perhaps due to a road traffic collision or fall, I am aware through those clients as to the importance of neurological rehabilitation and I am keen to ensure that we continue to have in our region excellent neurological care. I therefore, with a team from Moore Blatch, was pleased to be able to undertake this challenging walk and raise for Smile4Wessex a substantial sum”
