Moore Blatch advises on Poole based Blue Chip Data Systems sale

Leading national IT services company Blue Chip, which has its head office in Poole, Dorset has been acquired by major technology services provider GCI.  The sellers were advised by Moore Blatch, led by Corporate Partner, Peter Jeffery.

Founded in 1992, Blue Chip is a major supplier of IT managed services to FTSE-listed organisations and SMEs.

GCI’s acquisition of Blue Chip will enable GCI to markedly improve its consultative capability, giving them a fifth service pillar:  Full IT Support.

Richard Cook, MD at Blue Chip commented: “It’s reasonably rare for two great technology organisations to come together in a completely aligned agreement, and I am pleased that GCI have broadened their consultative capability even further with the acquisition of Blue Chip.  Reaching this agreement involved intense negotiations, but the top notch legal advice from Moore Blatch, plus the commitment shown by the whole legal team enabled us to reach a deal with GCI that we hope all parties will be very happy with.”

Peter Jeffery, Moore Blatch said; “We have a longstanding relationship with Blue Chip, including having acted for them on all commercial, corporate and employment matters. The acquisition by GCI sees two highly talented teams join forces in a deal that will not only benefit the companies and staff involved, but their thousands of corporate customers. I thank the sellers for all their time and support throughout the matter, and wish everyone involved all the best for the future”.

During the transaction Peter was supported by the wider Moore Blatch team, including Thomas Clark,  Polly Cross, Milly Bygrave, Cherie Lawson, David Bright, Dorothy Agnew, Katherine Maxwell, Stephanie Bowen and Luc Algar.
